POP UP ART/PERFORMANCE SHOW AT MATA

One day pop up art show with Suzy Poling and Christopher Reid Martin who are exhibiting large scale collaged prints, video art, installation and sculptural performance art.

Suzy Poling is showing printed works, painted items and a video piece titled, "Transmissions and Interferences". The video work is a display of painted film experimentations, video feedback and layered found footage of the Moon interacting together. This work represents conceptual depictions of Earth/Moon anomalies, energetic forcefields, ley lines and atmospheric phenomenon. During the live performance she uses pieces of metal as a conductor for sonic structuring and transcendental reckoning.

Christopher Reid Martin presents "Hard Constituents/Self Immolation and Council" which is made up of three performative actions. A proposition that human necessity and anxiety for socially learned practicality and functionality can be surpassed by surrendering to a world of ever changing natural chaos, and not to a world of human convention. The performance piece is a living testament to the cyclic abuse of life through the submission to a hard wired social schema, and a metaphor for finding solace and council within ourselves and within a world that challenges us, rather than "looking out" for all mortal selves.
